2016 Western Cape Funding Fair

The Western Cape Funding Fair is a partnership between the Department of Economic Development and Tourism and Deloitte, aimed at facilitating face–to-face contact between project promoters, entrepreneurs and various funding institutions within the region.

The vision of the Western Cape Funding Fair is to support and promote entrepreneurship and SME business, in order to accelerate business initiatives across the province and provide impetus for job creation.

The general public is invited to attend the speaker programmes in the auditorium that will take place at the Western Cape Funding Fair, and will have the opportunity to engage with funding institutions at the exhibition.
Entrance to the Western Cape Funding fair is free of charge, however registration is essential.


The format of the Funding Fair comprises three elements – closed project pitches, speaker programme and an exhibition.

Closed Project Pitches

The Top 20 shortlisted projects are given a 15-minute slot to pitch their business plans to a group of funding bodies.

Speaker Programme

Topical speaker sessions are held throughout the day by Deloitte specialists and external speakers in the auditorium. Projects and general delegates are invited to attend the full-day programme free of charge.


Each Funding body, as well as business chambers and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), has the opportunity to set up an exhibition stand to promote their business products and services as well as connect with the attendees at the Funding Fair.
